Christmas In London

I have to admit I usually dislike the main London shopping streets decorations, but this year Regent Street is beautiful.  I also have to add at this point that I have not yet put up the household decorations, and that last year’s Christmas cards are still on the sitting-room walls.

Sigh!

Just because

sometimes I see something and it has to be photographed for the blog.

London housing

If you have around £150 million, then you could buy an apartment in this building.  The rest of it is about to be turned into a hotel, luxury apartments (“serviced residences”) and a private members’ club  Indeed it seems there are very few buildings in London that are not being built as, or converted to, luxury apartments and hotels.  The centre of London changes so often I have lost track.

Pelicans

Three pelicans were dipping their heads and beaks into the water as I walked past them this evening.  From a distance they looked like swans.  One of those perfect moments captured in the photo with each pelican at a different stage of their elegant dance.

Lucky

Having moaned, full of self pity on here the other day, I was walking to one of my jobs  this morning (well, I do get a bus and a tube, but then have a 20 minute walk) and took these photos.

In the centre of London, how beautiful is early Autumn.  And how lucky I am.
