Sometimes when I want to write but can’t summon up The Muse I resort to my box of writing card unblocks: Naomi Epel’s The Observation Deck (as recommended by Sue Grafton, Andrei Codrescu and John Berendt. I have no memory of where or when I bought it though it cost me a magnificent $19.95, (I see it is now OP and can be got second-hand at $7.89) so I may have bought it when I was in New York in 2005 (see above).
So now I am in a dilemma. Do I write about that trip to New York which I am feeling nostalgic about having just looked through the photos, or do I delve into The Observation Deck? Or do I leave the choice with you?
